Adam Arthur Bier's practice focuses on corporate finance and securities, intellectual property, and general commercial transactions and counseling for emerging companies, investors, and foreign entities doing business in the United States.
Mr. Bier has extensive experience serving clients in the new media, biotechnology, e-commerce, telecommunications, energy & cleantech, design, IT, precision manufacturing, and consumer web industries, and has represented Fortune 500 companies in connection with major patent and antitrust litigation and internal investigations.
A graduate (with distinction) of the University of California, Berkeley and of New York University School of Law, Mr. Bier served as law clerk to the Hon. James F. Stiven of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California and practiced for several years at a law firm in Silicon Valley before founding Bier Legal in 2009.
Mr. Bier sits on the boards of directors for Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and San Francisco Opera’s junior auxiliary, BRAVO! CLUB, where he has directed the organization’s educational programming and chaired numerous outreach and fundraising initiatives. He is also active with a number of other local music and charitable organizations and serves on the Executive Committee of the Business Law Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco and as a panelist for California Lawyers for the Arts.
Mr. Bier is admitted to practice law in California and New York and before the U.S. Supreme Court and various U.S. Courts of Appeals and District Courts.
